Forecasting, Not Predicting: How I Actually Read Charts

"The stars incline; they do not bind." Traditional astrological saying

When people hear the word "astrology," they often imagine fortune-telling:

"Will I meet someone this year?"
"Will this relationship last?"
"Will I get the job?"

That's not the kind of work I do.

My approach is rooted in forecasting, not prediction. It's shaped by how I understand fate, free will, and the soul, and it's supported by tools like the I Ching, Reiki, and a language-of-flowers deck.

You don't need to know astrology to read this. I'll translate as we go.

1. Forecasting vs. Predicting

In everyday language, "forecast" and "predict" sound similar.

In my work, they're worlds apart.

What prediction looks like

Prediction is concrete and fixed. It sounds like:

"You will break up in October."
"You will lose your job next year."
"You will meet a tall, dark stranger."

Here, the planets become a script. Your life becomes a performance of that script. You become a passenger.

What forecasting looks like

Forecasting is symbolic. It describes:

The quality of the time
The themes and energies at play
A range of possible expressions, not one guaranteed outcome

Think of it like weather. A weather forecast doesn't say: "You will get soaked at 3pm." It says: "There's a 70% chance of rain this afternoon." What you do with that information (bring an umbrella, reschedule, or dance in the rain) is up to you.

An example

Instead of saying:

"You will break up in October."

A forecast might say:

"Over the next few months, your relationships may feel heavier, like life is asking: Is this sustainable? Are we both showing up? This is a season for honest conversations, clearer boundaries, and deciding what's worth keeping."

From there, many things can happen:

A relationship deepens through commitment and real talk.
A couple recognises something isn't working and separates with clarity.
Someone steps back from dating for a while to get clear on their own needs.

The underlying theme stays the same. The storyline depends on you: your history, your choices, your awareness, your context.

Forecasting names:

The pattern
The timing
The range of possibilities

...so you can meet that time more consciously.

2. Fate, Free Will, and the Flow of Life's Energies

Behind forecasting is a deeper question:

"Are we fated, or are we free?"

Fate: the pattern you carry

Your birth chart is not random. Think of it like an acorn.

Inside an acorn, we can already see the pattern of an oak, not a mango tree, not a rose bush. In that sense, there is fate:Certain themes repeat in your life.Certain lessons, gifts, and challenges keep returning.Some areas of life feel like "home ground" for your soul's work.

As time passes, different parts of your life come into focus at different moments.

Some seasons feel expansive and lucky. Others feel heavy and demanding. Some shake your identity to its core.

So yes, astrology suggests:

There is a pattern of life present at birth.
This pattern unfolds in cycles as time moves.

Free will: your greatest talent

At the same time, we are not puppets.

Our greatest human talent is free will:

We can choose how we respond.
We can seek help, change habits, leave situations, stay and do the work, or rewrite agreements.
We can increase our consciousness around a pattern, instead of repeating it blindly.

Two people going through very similar life seasons can live them very differently:

One person might feel completely crushed and act only from fear.
Another might use the same period to take responsibility, set healthier boundaries, and build structures that truly support their life.

How free will changes the energy flow

When you bring awareness and choice to a challenging time, you can:

Shift a theme from crisis to initiation
Turn victimhood into responsibility
Transform repetition into breakthrough

The energy stays recognisable. But the level at which it plays out can move:

From purely external events to inner realisation
From destructive behaviour to conscious transformation
From feeling "done to" to active co-creation

Astrology shows the field and tempo of the energies at work. Free will decides how deeply you want to work with them.

3. Why I Only Forecast (and Don't Predict)

Given everything above, here's how I work as the Naked Astrologer.

I do forecasting, not fortune-telling

In my consultations, I:

Describe the themes and energies active in your life
Pinpoint timing windows and cycles
Explore inner processes (emotional, psychological, spiritual) and outer possibilities (events, decisions, circumstances) with you

I do not:

Guarantee specific outcomes ("this relationship will end")
Tell you what to do ("you must quit this job now")
Claim to see "the one correct" future for you

I offer possible flows, not fixed outcomes

You'll often hear me say things like:

"This period may feel like..."
"You might notice a strong need to..."
"This season invites you to work with themes of..."
"On the shadow side, this could show up as..."

That's intentional.

A single life season can express itself in many concrete ways, all true to the underlying pattern. My role is to:

Map the territory
Name potential paths through it
Reflect where you have agency and choice

The final storyline belongs to you.

Why results can change

Sometimes people ask:

"You said this period was about X, but what happened looked more like Y. Was the reading wrong?"

More often than not:

The reading was correctly describing the underlying pattern.
Your choices changed the way that pattern showed up.
Your inner work altered the level at which the energy expressed itself.
Your circumstances shifted between the time of reading and the time of unfolding.

So yes, the exact outcome can change. That's not a failure of forecasting. It's a sign that you are not a passive object of your life. You're an active participant.

This is why I consciously choose forecasting over prediction, participation over passivity.

4. How I Weave in the I Ching, Reiki, and the Language of Flowers

Astrology is my main language, but it's not the only one I speak.

Alongside timing and themes, I sometimes bring in the I Ching, Reiki, and a language-of-flowers card deck from Olde Hansa in Tallinn. Together, they form a small ecosystem of tools that support clarity, alignment, and gentle truth.

I Ching: how to stand inside the moment

My philosophy of the I Ching matches my philosophy of forecasting.

The chart shows the pattern and timing. The I Ching shows how to stand inside that pattern with integrity.

When we consult the I Ching in a session, I'm not asking:

"Will this succeed or fail?"

I'm asking:

"What is the most aligned way to move, given what's happening now?"

In practice, the I Ching helps to:

Clarify the inner attitude and outer approach that best fit the time
Reveal where you might be pushing against the flow, or where you're invited to act
Bring a sense of Tao: moving with the time, not against it

Example: Astrology might say: "This is a season of testing and consolidation in your career." The I Ching might add: "Here is the posture, the rhythm, and the kind of action that harmonises with this time."

The I Ching doesn't replace astrology. It refines how you walk through what the chart already shows.

Reiki: speaking only what is meant to be spoken

Reiki, for me, is about listening more deeply, not forcing outcomes.

When I say I infuse Reiki into my work, I mean that I enter a grounded, Reiki-attuned state before and during sessions. I intentionally invite guidance about:

What is essential to share now
What is not needed or would be intrusive
Where the energy feels open and ready, and where it feels like "not yet"

This helps me:

Stay within the principle: I read the chart; I do not go beyond it.
Avoid overwhelming you with information just because it's technically visible.
Honour both your boundaries and the timing of your process.

Reiki supports me in doing less, but better: going to the heart of what truly serves you in this moment.

The Language of Flowers: a truthful, gentle mirror

The last ally in my toolkit is a language-of-flowers card deck from Olde Hansa in Tallinn.

Each flower carries:

A mood
A message
A teaching

When we draw a card, I'm not asking it to "predict" events. I'm inviting it to:

Reflect the emotional tone of what you're living
Name a quality of heart asking for attention: courage, patience, softness, boundaries, forgiveness
Offer a poetic, embodied image your soul can recognise

Sometimes the flower confirms what we've already seen in the chart and I Ching. Sometimes it adds a softer angle we might have missed if we stayed only in analysis.

Think of it as a truthful friend that speaks in symbols rather than arguments. Like all my tools, the flowers don't override your free will. They simply mirror something already present in you, asking to be seen.
